Randy Pausch
showed others how to live life, while he himself was dying from cancer Live life to the fullest-this is what Randy Pausch did when he learnt that
he had pancreatic cancer, a terminal illness, in September 2006. Knowing this, he cried because of the fact that his children would grow up without him.
Yet, he spent his last few months on earth happily because he had lived his life in such a way that he accomplished more in 47 years, than many people accomplish in 90.

Born on October 23, 1960, Pausch was a little known computer science professor at Carnegie-Mellon University until the video of his university farewell speech
‘The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams’ became a global internet phenomenon in September 2007. He then also co-authored a book called
‘The Last Lecture’ on the same theme, which became a New York Times best-seller.
For Randy Pausch, the farewell presentation was a very real opportunity to make his final public statement to the world. His speech was not one of regret, nor the
sobriety of death. Instead, Pausch gave a heartfelt and energized tribute to life. For over an hour he shared with his audience the importance of following childhood
dreams, and enjoying every moment you have on this planet. His message is simple-dream like a child, then live with passion and purpose.

Watch this video to know about ‘The Last lecture’ and learn to live life from the man who knew he was about to die in three months.

Pausch died of complications from pancreatic cancer on July 25, 2008. It is the people like Randy Pausch, who showed thousand reasons to lead a happy life and that
makes our society a better place to live in. He is no more with us, but his legacy will live on for generations to come.
Randy Pausch had truly justified one of the famous quote on life
- ‘You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.’

Few of his inspiring quotes from his book ‘The Last Lecture’
are given below.

*The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there
to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show
how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop
the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the
other people.*

*We all have finite time and energy. Any time we spend whining is
unlikely to help us achieve our goals. And it won’t make us happier.*

*Too many people go through life complaining about their problems.
I’ve always believed that if you took one tenth the energy you put
into complaining and applied it to solving the problem, you’d be
surprised by how well things can work out.*

*Find the best in everybody. Just keep waiting no matter how long it
takes. No one is all evil. Everybody has a good side, just keep
waiting, it will come out.
